Sol Scapes is a Utah-based landscape construction company specializing in artificial turf installation, concrete patios and driveways, Belgard paver installation, and hardscaping. We serve homeowners across Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties with a focus on quality craftsmanship, honest pricing, and results that last.
Founded by Derek McKenzie, Sol Scapes was built on a simple idea: homeowners deserve a contractor who shows up on time, communicates clearly, and delivers work they're proud to stand behind. The Team
Sol Scapes was founded by Derek McKenzie and Chad Hekking, two Utah natives who bring years of hands-on experience in landscape construction. From turf and concrete to full hardscape transformations, they've built the company on a foundation of honest pricing, quality craftsmanship, and doing the work right the first time.
Leading day-to-day operations is Ethan Stutz, our Director of Operations, who brings over 10 years of experience in the industry. Ethan ensures every project runs on schedule, on budget, and meets the standard Sol Scapes is known for.
Together, the leadership team is directly involved in every project — from estimate to final walkthrough. When you hire Sol Scapes, you're working with the owners and an operations team that takes personal pride in the finished product, not a sales rep juggling 20 other jobs.
Our install crews are experienced professionals who take pride in their work. We don't use subcontractors for core services, which means the team that shows up on day one is the same team that finishes the job.
